Information pages are static content designed to make useful and/or important information easily accessible to the entire organization. To create one or more (sub)information pages, follow these steps:
Go to the information pages via your menu bar. Then click New page.
When creating a new information page, you can choose between two types of pages: a main page or a subpage. You can do this by selecting one of the options in the top-right menu:
A main page can be divided into subpages. For example, a main page called “HR Information” might have subpages such as “Requesting leave” or “Expense claims.”
Setting up an information page
First, fill in the title and page description, and optionally add an image. The title will appear in the navigation bar when you hover over it, so try to keep it short and clear.
Next, add the page content. If you include headings in your content, these will appear on the right-hand side as anchors. An H1 becomes a main anchor and an H2 a sub-anchor. You can also use the toolbar to add various elements such as images, videos, and links.
Select the content owner. This person will be visible once the information page is published. Visitors to the page can email the content owner with questions or comments about the content.
You can also choose whether to make the information page content public or restrict access to a specific group.
Finally, you can set a date and time for the page to be published. If you leave this blank, the page will be published immediately, or you can save it as a draft.
What else can you configure?
- It’s possible to automatically archive a page. This can be useful, for example, when a new collective labor agreement (CLA) is introduced. You can prepare the new page in advance and set an archive date for the old one, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Manually managing links is possible within the main text, in the right-hand column, or in both. If you enable automatic link generation, any links included in the body text will also appear on the right-hand side to enable quick navigation.
- You can attach documents to the page. These documents will be displayed in the sidebar on the right-hand side.
- Click Save draft to publish or edit later. Click Publish to make the page live immediately and include it in the navigation bar. The page will then be visible to users right away.
- Do you want to review your page content again after six months? Select the option “Request review in 6 months.”
Tip: You can also create pages for a specific group. You can enable this option in your group settings. This is useful, for example, if you want to share location-specific information with your group. You can also add subpages within a group. Group information pages are marked with a group icon next to the title in the left-hand menu.
Sharing information pages
We distinguish between platform-wide information pages and pages belonging to a specific group. Do you want to highlight a page in a specific group or channel? Click the Share button at the bottom of the page. Based on your memberships and permissions, you can share the page with a group or channel.
Archiving an information page
Sometimes an information page is no longer relevant, but you don’t want to lose its content. In that case, you can set an archive date in the page edit screen. After that date, the page will be moved to the archived section in the overview.
Deleting an information page
Prefer to delete a page completely? An information page can be easily deleted by the page owner, a content manager, or an admin. You can delete an information page by clicking Edit and then the trash icon at the bottom of the page. Another option is shown below.
