There may be many groups in your environment, with different topics or purposes such as projects and departments, or activities and social events. There are several ways to view your own groups or groups that others are members of. You can also find different ways to discover groups you may want to join.
Note: You can only see the open and closed groups that others are members of, not their hidden groups.
Searching for groups via the menu
From the menu, you can go to the overview of all groups.
In the top menu bar, select Groups. By default, you will first see the groups that you are already a member of.
In the left-hand column, you will see several filters, including My groups, Open groups, and All groups.
Click Open groups for an overview of both the open groups you are already a member of and the open groups you are not yet part of. You can join these groups without approval.
Click All groups to also see the groups that require approval or an invitation to join. This way, you can view the closed groups within your Plek.
You can also filter by group type, for example by Department or Project.
Joining a group
Click on a group you’d like to join. If it’s an open group, click Join. If it’s a closed group, click Request membership (the group administrator will need to approve your request first).
It may be that filters have been set up in the taxonomy (by your platform admin). If that’s the case, you will also see an overview there. Taxonomy provides an easy way to filter, for example by department, specialization, or projects.
Are you curious about the groups your colleagues are members of? You can view their profile to see which groups they belong to and what posts they share there.
