Introduction
You sign in to your BCS Connect account with your password. If your organisation uses manual login (and not Single Sign-On), you can change your password yourself at any time.
In this article you'll learn how changing your password works, which requirements a new password must meet, how to change it step by step, and what to do if it doesn't work.
Does your organisation sign in via Single Sign-On (SSO)? In that case you don't manage your password in BCS Connect, but through your organisation account. Contact your internal IT or HR department instead.
How does changing your password work?
You change your password from your own profile under Settings. First you enter your current password, then choose a new one. Once you save, the new password applies the next time you sign in.
A new password must meet the following requirements:
- At least 8 characters long
- At least one uppercase letter (A–Z)
- At least one lowercase letter (a–z)
- At least one number (0–9)
Choose a password you don't use anywhere else and store it in a trusted password manager. That way your account stays safe even if a password is leaked elsewhere.
Changing your password
Follow the steps below to change your password.
-
Go to Settings in the menu.
- Enter your current password.
- Choose a new password that meets the requirements (at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number).
-
Confirm your new password and click Save.
Your password has been changed. The next time you sign in, use your new password.
Troubleshooting
My current password isn't accepted
- Check that Caps Lock is off and that you haven't entered any extra spaces.
- Try signing in on a new tab to confirm your current password still works.
- Forgot your current password? Use the Forgot password option on the sign-in screen.
My new password is rejected
- Check that the password meets all requirements: at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number.
- Some organisations also require a special character or a minimum length greater than 8. In that case, try a longer password with a punctuation mark (such as !, ? or #).
- Avoid reusing your previous password — this may be blocked.
I can't click Save
- Check that all three fields (current password, new password and confirmation) are filled in.
- Make sure the new password and the confirmation match exactly.
I don't see an option to change my password
Your organisation most likely uses Single Sign-On (SSO). In that case you manage your password through your organisation account, not in BCS Connect. Contact your internal IT or HR department.
