Usually, your organization manages the content of its channels manually.
However, it’s also possible to load an RSS feed into a channel — allowing the channel to be automatically populated with content from that feed.
Connecting an RSS Feed to a New Channel
- First, go to the Admin panel.
- Click Channels.
You’ll now see an overview of all existing channels in your Plek environment. - Click New channel.
A page will open where you can enter the details for your new channel. - Give your channel a name, and select which user types and/or specific individuals are allowed to post messages in this channel.
- Check the box labeled RSS channel.
You’ll now need to enter the source of the RSS feed — this is a URL.
Copy the RSS feed link from the website that provides it.
For example, you could use the RSS feed from the Dutch Government’s latest news.
Websites that offer RSS feeds often include a link on the right-hand side or at the bottom of the page.
You can open this link in your browser, but to use it in Plek, you need to copy the URL (from your browser’s address bar). - Paste the copied RSS feed URL into the field labeled RSS source channel.
- Next, select an RSS channel owner.
Plek will publish all RSS messages on behalf of this user. - When you’re done, click Create.
Your new channel with the RSS feed is now set up.
Whenever new items are added to the RSS feed, they will automatically appear in the channel on Plek.
💡 Tip: As an admin, you can change the order of channels.
If the channels are not locked, users can also rearrange them on their own homepage.
