Introduction
In BCS Connect, you can save a message as a draft so you can finish it later. Did you accidentally close or discard a message? In many cases, you can still recover its content.
In this article you will learn how to save a draft, find your saved drafts, and recover a message you closed by accident.
Drafts you save on behalf of someone else are not visible to you.
How does saving a draft work?
A draft is a temporary version of a message that you do not want to publish yet. Drafts are only visible to you and remain available until you delete or publish them.
- Save a draft: you keep your message without publishing it.
- Find a draft: all your drafts are listed under Messages → Drafts.
- Recover a closed message: when you close a message in progress, you always see a prompt with the choice between Discard and Save draft. If you discarded by accident, recovery is often still possible.
Save a draft
Follow these steps to save a message as a draft.
- Go to Messages.
- Click New message and write your message.
-
Click Save draft instead of Post.
- Your message is now saved as a draft and is only visible to you.
Find a saved draft
Do you want to keep working on an earlier draft? You will find it in the drafts overview.
- Go to Messages.
-
Click Drafts to view all saved drafts.
- Click the draft you want to open to continue writing or to publish it.
Recover a closed message
Did you accidentally close a message you were working on? A prompt appears automatically. In that prompt you choose whether you want to discard the message or save it as a draft.
This prompt always appears — regardless of whether you are using the standard editor or the advanced editor.
Recover a message after clicking 'Discard'
Did you click Discard in the prompt? In many cases you can still bring the content back.
- Open New message again.
-
Click Restore to bring back the content of the discarded message.
- Finish your message and choose Save draft or Post again.
The Restore option only appears if you were using the Advanced editor.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find my draft
- Check whether you saved the draft on behalf of someone else — those drafts are not visible to you.
- Make sure you are looking under Messages → Drafts.
The 'Restore' button is missing
- Check whether the Advanced editor is enabled.
- Create a new message again; sometimes the restore content only appears after that.
