Introduction
Insights provides visibility into platform adoption through five interrelated metrics: Reach, Visit, View, Interact and Contribute. Each metric builds on the previous one; together they paint a picture of how the organization is using the platform.
This article explains how to access Insights, the structure of the main dashboard, the meaning of the five metrics and which roles have access to which pages.
The Insights main dashboard is intended for admins and content managers. Group admins see a group-specific version via the group page; end users only see statistics about their own contributions. The figures are intended for steering adoption, communication effectiveness and community engagement — not for evaluating individual users.
How do you access Insights?
You reach Insights via the profile menu in the top right of the platform. Hover your mouse over your profile picture and then select Insights. The main dashboard with the five metrics loads immediately.
Don't see Insights in your profile menu? Then your account doesn't have the required permissions. See the section Who has access to Insights? below for an overview per role, or contact your organization's admin.
Group admins open statistics for their own group via the admin tools, not through the profile menu. The main dashboard itself is not visible to this role.
How does Insights work?
Insights models platform adoption as a five-step process. Each step measures a deeper level of engagement. A low score on an early step automatically limits the possible score on subsequent steps.
- Reach: how many accounts are activated — users who can actually visit the platform.
- Visit: how often those activated users return to the platform.
- View: which posts, pages and documents are being read.
- Interact: the extent to which users respond to each other's content through chats, likes and comments.
- Contribute: how many users post content or information themselves.
The order matters. Without activated accounts there can be no visits; without visits nothing gets read; without read content interaction barely takes off. The main dashboard helps identify at which stage users drop off and where extra attention is needed.
Clicking a tile opens the detail page for that metric. There you'll find the score calculation, charts over time, period selection and improvement tips.
Who has access to Insights?
Access to Insights is determined by the user's role. There are four roles: Admin, Content manager, User (end user) and Group admin. The tables below show which pages and which content types are visible per role.

Permissions per content type
In addition to access per Insights page, there is also a breakdown per content type: posts, pages and documents. This table describes what a role can see for content outside groups (public content) and inside groups (group content).
Public content — content outside groups, to which the group admin role does not apply:
| Content scope | Admin | Content manager | User | Group admin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Posts | ||||
| Own (created) post | Yes | Yes | Yes | User role |
| All posts | Yes | Yes | No | User role |
| Pages | ||||
| Own (created) page | Yes | Yes | N/A | User role |
| Own (assigned) page | Yes | Yes | Yes | User role |
| All pages | Yes | Yes | No | User role |
| Documents | ||||
| Own (created) document | Yes | Yes | N/A | User role |
| Own (assigned) document | Yes | Yes | Yes | User role |
| All documents | Yes | Yes | No | User role |
Group content — content inside a group, to which the group admin role applies. For regular users, group content follows the same rules as public content:
| Content scope | Admin | Content manager | User | Group admin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual post in group | Yes | Yes | No | Yes |
| Individual page in group | Yes | Yes | No | Yes |
| Individual document in group | Yes | Yes | No | Yes |
| Group Insights (for the group) | Yes | Yes | No | Yes |
«User role» means that a group admin's access to public content is determined by their underlying role (User or Content manager).
